Calvin Lloyd Dies in New Jersey

Calvin Lloyd of St. Thomas died on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at East Orange, N.J. He was 81 years old. 

He is survived by his daughters: Geraldine (Jeri) Lloyd of New York, Cheryl Keys of Newark, N.J; Shawn Harris of Tacoma, Wash.; Shawnette Lloyd of Anguilla West Indies; Corlett Lloyd of Atlanta, Ga. and Carolyn Lloyd of St. Thomas, V.I.; sons: Anthony (Tony) Lloyd of New York and Calvin Lloyd Jr. of St. Croix; and stepsons: Jimmy Smith of Auburn of Wash. and Robert Smith (Diane) of Columbia, S.C.

He is also survived by sisters: Rita Samuel (Randolph), Eureka Phillips (Edward) and Ura Gosha — all of St. Thomas; brothers: Allison Lloyd (Janet) of St. Thomas and Leon Lenhardt (Judy) of White Plains, N.Y.; former wife, Bertha Page of Tacoma, Wash.; 32 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the first viewing on Thursday, March 2, at Celestial Chapel, Hurley Funeral Home. The service will take place at 9 a.m., Friday, March 3, at All Saints Cathedral.  Interment will follow at Eastern Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the care of Hurley Funeral Home and Cremation Center of St. Thomas, St. John, St. Croix and Tortola.
