Danish Students Visit VIMSIA as Part of Centennial Celebration

Visiting Danish students join with VIMSIA students at dance class.Students from Ranum Efterskole College in Denmark spent a day at Virgin Islands Montessori School & Peter Gruber International Academy (VIMSIA) on Tuesday, Jan. 17. Danish students paired up with V.I. students to attend classes, become friends and experience the curriculum.

This visit was an effort to welcome the Danish students to St. Thomas as the territory celebrates its Centennial this spring. The two schools are planning to embark on future visits, which will include the annual student exchange program.

Helen Sidiropolous, the school’s dance teacher, said, "In our 11th grade dance class, the visiting Danish students danced the sevillanas from Spain, the kalamatiano from Greece, the bachata from the Dominican Republic and some hip-hop dancehall fusion with the DP Dancers from the Virgin Islands. They took a true trip around the world!"
