On Saturday, Dec. 17, the United States Virgin Islands Volleyball Federation (VIVF) has re-elected Lucille Hobson as president for the period of 2016-2020 by a unanimous vote of the general assembly.
Hobson, who is also 1st vice president of the Caribbean Zonal Volleyball Association (CAZOVA) and member of the Sports Organizing Commission of NORCECA, has been president of VIVF since 2004.
She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of the Virgin Islands, a Masters Degree in Teaching and Learning, and an Educational Specialist Degree in Curriculum Instruction Management and Administration from Nova Southeastern University in Florida. She is now pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Organizational Leadership.
The other members of the executive committee are Desiree Miranda, 1st vice president; Mark Daniel, 2nd vice president; Naomi Martinez-Goodwin, general secretary; Alphenis Williams, treasurer; Kirt Williams, secretary/treasurer; and Marjorie Wheatley and Edwin Sankitts Sr., members-at-large. The executive director appointed by the president is Blanche Bough.
After the election, Ms. Hobson stated that she will continue to promote the sport of volleyball and beach volleyball in the Virgin Islands and the Caribbean.
