BIR Sending Out $10 Million in Tax Refunds in Time for Holidays

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has begun paying out income tax refunds totaling $10 million in time for the holidays. It mailed out 3,800 checks last week to taxpayers in the territory, according to a press release issued Tuesday by the BIR and the V.I. Department of Finance.

As the government makes every effort to expeditiously fulfill its fiduciary obligations, both agency heads commended their employees for their dedicated hard work and commitment to continuously process and make payments.

BIR Director Marvin L. Pickering said, “The bureau continues to process income tax returns daily, and I encourage taxpayers with questions about their refunds to contact us at 715-1040.”
