Nordsidevej Resident Robbed at Gunpoint

A man outside his home in Nordsidevej was robbed by an armed man Wednesday evening while searching for something in his car, the V.I. Police Department reported.

About 9:45 p.m. the victim called 911 to report that he had been robbed at gunpoint. When officers arrived at the scene, the victim told them that while he was outside in his yard looking for something in a vehicle, a man ran up behind him and grabbed him from behind. The victim said the suspect held a firearm to his head while demanding his gold chain and everything out of his pocket.

Fearing for his life, the victim said he complied, removing his chain from around his neck and all the cash from his pockets. The suspect then fired several shots into the air as he ran away in an unknown direction.

The case is under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau which urged anyone with information to contact the VIPD at 340-774-2211, the bureau at 340-714-9801, the 911 center, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers VI, at 1-800-222-8477.
