11th Annual Water Island Music Festival Scheduled for January 22-24

The Water Island Music Festival will be held for three days. Pianist Julian Gargiulo returns to the Virgin Islands for the eleventh year to perform the program he performed earlier in January at New York’s Carnegie Hall. Joining him will be world-class musicians: Maria Yefimova, piano; Roza Bulat, soprano; Wells Hanley, jazz piano; Hilary Gardner, jazz singer; violinist prodigy Hae Ji Kim; trumpet virtuoso Joe Burgstaller; and Julie Desbordes.
Each evening will feature a totally different program of music. All three concerts will take place from 7-10 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 22, 23 and 24, at Providence Point Water Island. The concerts are free, but please bring a large donation to cover the artists’ expenses. All proceeds are divided among the artists.
Make plans to come to Water Island. There will be ferry service from Crown Bay Marina, St. Thomas, and return ferry boats. A ferry from Crown Bay Marina will be available at 5:15 p.m. and 6 p.m. and will continue until all concert patrons have crossed. There will be return ferry rides when the concert is over around 10 p.m.
Due to the demand for seating, indoor seats will only be available to persons who place telephone reservations in advance, and long standing patrons have priority seating. For seating reservations send a text to 514-9995 or call during evening hours.
The concerts are sponsored by the Randall Family of Water Island who utilize their home as the concert venue.
