Thanks Are Given for a ‘Delectable’ Experience

Dear Source:
Thank You Thank You from Downtown Revitalization, Inc. [DRI] to everyone who worked so hard to make the very first St. Thomas Eats: A Food Truck Fete a wonderfully delectable experience. Wonderful for foodies, vendors, fun seekers and shoppers last Friday night, September 25th. And a Big Thank You to the stores who stayed open late.
We’re also pleased to announce The Food Truck Fete Peoples’ Choice Awards for the best food vendors: First place- Sidewalk Grill Express, Second place- Eustace Weekes’ Hot On the Spot, Third Place — Junior Huggins’ Armstrong Ice Cream. Appreciation also to Hilarine’s Food Truck, We Never Sleep Roti Bus and Yum O’s Gelato.
It takes a lot to run an intricate event and special shout-outs to our co-sponsors, Department of Tourism and International Capital & Management Company, who along with Dion Parsons, worked together to secure great entertainment including the Rising Stars and Pipe Dream. Our dynamic and energetic working committee, which had lots of help from the All Saints Vikings as well numerous volunteers who turned out to help. And the VIPD, which ensured we had attentive and helpful coverage, with special thanks to Sgt. Bess.
Thanks again to the following Main Street Shops for their support by staying open: 3 G’s, Caribana, Penha Duty Free, Jewels Forever, Artistic Jewelers, Dynasty Dazzlers and Royal Caribbean.
Together we achieved our goal of Food-Entertainment-Shopping.
DRI is currently embarking on an ambitious plan of monthly events highlighting different parts of ‘Downtown’ and different aspects of the community. To learn more about how you can help and how you can benefit, come to our Community Forum at the Memorial Moravian Church on Norre Gade near Fort Christian Parking Lot, at 9:00 am on Saturday, November 7th.
